3. Decatur

Decatur is the second DeKalb County town on our list, and it shares its western border with Atlanta. Nearly 25,000 call Decatur their home, boasting the iconic slogan — “Everything is greater in Decatur.” This town offers a great mix of urban and suburban vibes, allowing residents to enjoy the best of both worlds. Again, this is a place with a highly ranking independent school system consisting of four neighborhood elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school, which can allow parents to feel confident sending their children to school here.
